Awesome Hair? Check!

March 4, 2011

Oh how I love me some pampering!

Have a look at what the wonderful magician, called Dennis (at En Vogue) managed to create out of my (normally) very flat hair!

Now, let the weekend begin – properly!

February 28, 2011

What a weekend this has been! Lots and lots of fun, love, laughter and good food! (and even some slight (window) shopping)

Went to a friends birthday party at the club Icon (Auugstinerhof, right off of Bahnhofsrrasse), which was a very pleasant surprise in terms of clubs! Normally, I’m not exactly a fan of any clubs, but Icon is small and very intimate and perfect for something like a birthday party. Hope everyone else had as much fun as I did!

What did you get up to?

The lovely, wonderfully warm weather seems to want to stick with us for a while – thank God for that!

Enjoy the Sun!

Image from this place.

I personally think that the sun is gracing us with its presence due to the birth of little baby Sophia Ann over in Chicago. I will forever associate you with the first really sunny weekend of 2011. Welcome to the World!

Go outside if you can today, enjoy the sun shine, feel it’s rays on your winter pale skin!

Tuesday tip!

January 25, 2011

A little idea for those of you who don’t need a lot of sleep at night, or those of you who have the luxury of a day off tomorrow, check out Karakoe from Hell at Mascotte this evening!

It is such a hilarious concept – though we all know how karaoke usually goes down, this is only similar by concept. The songs are both old and new classics in the rockier arena. It is so much fun listening to people, both talented and not, having a go at these great songs! And, if that wasn’t enough, they are accompanied by a live band.

Starts at 22:30 tonight, doors open at 22:00.

If there is any chance that you like rock (and are ever so slightly amused by the X-Factor/Idol/DSDS etc. auditions…) please check it out! I promise you a hilarious evening!

Movie tip

January 17, 2011

This weekend I watched “Black Swan”, starring Nathalie  Portman and Mila Kunis, amongst others. I can only recommend it!

Black Swan poster - from

The storyline is as follows: “Nina (Portman) is a ballerina in a New York City ballet company whose life, like all those in her profession, is completely consumed with dance. She lives with her obsessive former ballerina mother Erica (Hershey) who exerts a suffocating control over her. When artistic director Thomas Leroy (Cassel) decides to replace prima ballerina Beth MacIntyre (Ryder) for the opening production of their new season, Swan Lake, Nina is his first choice. But Nina has competition: a new dancer, Lily (Kunis), who impresses Leroy as well. Swan Lake requires a dancer who can play both the White Swan with innocence and grace, and the Black Swan, who represents guile and sensuality. Nina fits the White Swan role perfectly but Lily is the personification of the Black Swan. As the two young dancers expand their rivalry into a twisted friendship, Nina begins to get more in touch with her dark side – a recklessness that threatens to destroy her. Written by Fox Searchlight Pictures

I was completely taken aback by this movie. It is dark, it is beautiful and it is scary. Nathalie Portman does an unforgettable performance as the “Swan Queen”, and following her transformation into this role is truly brilliant. I won’t reveal more than that at this moment…

Please leave a comment and tell me what you thought of this movie!

Streetart Vernissage

January 17, 2011

First of all I would like to wish you a very happy Monday! Hope you got up to something fun during the weekend?

A little tip of what’s happening in ZH today, is a art show opening of a different kind – an art show displaying art on billboards around Hammerstrasse 43. This is located directly by the Botanical Gardens in Zürich Seefeld.

Five billboard-artworks will be displayed around this area, and the exhibition is on until the 30th January. The following, all young and international, artists have their work on display:  Alain Kupper, Andreas Dobler & Anna Kanai, Costa Vece, Kerim Seiler and Oliver Ross. They have not had any instructions regarding any theme or equivalent for this exhibition. After the 30th January, the artworks will be covered by regular advertisement.

The opening is, as previously stated, tonight at 18:30. The artists will be present, and the exhibition will be premiered with a bit of a party.

Hope to see you all there!
